Table Manager

Update

Submitted by AppCreator on Wed, 06/15/2005 - 00:00

It's nearly 2 years since the last update of the PHP MySQL Table Manager. That's way too long, so I thought I would try and make some time to clean it up and add some new features. Some of you have already suggested improvements, and now would be the best time for anyone else to offer ideas, suggestions etc.
I am also thinking of developing something similar in Java, for those of you out there without PHP but that of course would be some time off.

Solutions

Once again I have been shown not only the error but also the solution. Thanks Robert Christiaanse and all the others who point out errors or send in great comments, you guy's make this too easy for me.

The PHP MySql Table Manager 2.8 has now been uploaded with a fix for the empty search error.

Fix

A small bug fix has been made to the MySQL Table Manager
The fix corrected a misguided function call to a function that displays the version number in the footer. Only version 2.6 would have been affected.
Thanks Robert for pointing it out.

Thanks for the great comments and emails I have received lately about the PHP : MySQL Table Manager. They have inspired me to make a few changes and release a new version, 2.5.

Volker suggested displaying table and database size in bytes and Lesley inspired me with code to improve the handling SET and ENUM when adding or editing records.

The page numbering system was also improved and code cleaned up in many places.

PHP:MySql Table Manager

The Menu of the PHP:MySql Table Manager has been updated. A button to take you to the tables of the current database was added and the Table Manager Start button now takes you to a listing of available databases. Also a permissions error when trying to create a database has been fixed.

Another thing I've been playing with over the last couple of weeks is a CSS Generator, there's still more refining to do but if your interested in having a look be my guest.

PHP:MySql Table Manager version 2.0

Finally I have uploaded the Visitor Sniffer of the PHP:MySql Table Manager. There are some major changes to this version 2.0, the most important thing to note is that version 2.0 only runs on PHP 4.1.0 or greater.
The main driver for the upgrade was security, PHP changed the way variables passed from forms could be accessed in 4.1.0 and recommends everyone upgrade to the latest version.

Add a column

The PHP: MySQL Table Manager has been improved again. Thanks go out to Arthur for his request to add a column to a table in a specified position. Now when adding a column to a table the order of columns is displayed and you can simply select where you want the new column placed.
